東鐵14%主要組件有裂痕
田北辰晚上在記者會上稱，當中有189件是吊架焊接位出現裂痕；18件掛架焊接位有裂痕，其中17件的裂紋少於10毫米，另外5掛架拉釘焊接位有裂痕。全部檢查了1465件東鐵列車主要組件，有裂痕的共212件，佔14%，但不致構成危險(that's probably based on the current situation, if the cracks are never found until it becomes visible, that's another story)，預料在本月廿八日前會完成所有焊接工作。

九鐵署理行政總裁黎文熹說，無資料顯示裂紋何時出現，暫時也不知存在多久 (this is probably true but the date of discovery is so long ago that's unacceptable that the public does not know the fact at all until recently)。這些輕微裂痕在正常維修時無法發現，需特別程序檢視。
