Speed of Sound - New Single from Coldplay
Coldplay has developed a comprehensive online interface for its fans and listeners - Coldplayer. By logging in as member, you could listen to their new single & view clips and various stuff online.

【 明 報 專 訊 】 對 於 房 屋 及 規 劃 地 政 局 高 調 批 評 保 護 海 港 協 會 有 關 填 海 的 兒 童 讀 物 不盡 不 實 ， 協 會 主 席 陸 恭 蕙 昨 日 表 示 ， 政 府 對 「 幻 想 式 」 兒 童 故 事 的 緊 張 程 度 令 她 「吃 驚 」 和 「 莫 名 其 妙 」 。 她 昨 日 去 信 局 方 逐 一 反 駁 有 關 批 評 ， 並 表 示 不 會 糾 正 或 收回 圖 書 。
去 信 政 府 反 駁 批 評
陸 恭 蕙 解 釋 ， 終 審 法 院 就 維 港 填 海 的 判 決 曾 提 到 要 把 保 護 海 港 的 信 息 一 代 傳 一 代 ，因 此 決 定 出 版 兒 童 故 事 書 ， 想 不 到 政 府 「 忽 然 反 應 咁 大 」 。 故 事 書 只 向 兒 童 傳 遞 簡單 的 信 息 ， 就 是 要 愛 護 維 港 ， 減 少 污 染 海 洋 生 態 ， 內 容 並 沒 錯 誤 ， 協 會 並 沒 打 算 糾正 或 收 書 。
保 港 會 昨 午 去 信 房 屋 局 ， 反 駁 局 方 批 評 的 五 大 爭 議 ﹕
一 、 故 事 指 政 府 「 無 止 境 填 海 」 沒 有 誤 導 ， 因 政 府 未 能 保 證 不 會 繼 續 填 海 。
二 、 「 天 星 碼 頭 和 皇 后 像 廣 場 快 因 填 海 被 拆 ? 」 的 資 料 是 符 合 中 環 分 區 大 綱 圖 上 註 明 的 發 展 。
三 、 「 中 環 第 3 期 填 海 為 了 賣 地 賺 錢 」 亦 有 依 據 ， 因 大 綱 圖 內 80 萬 平 方 呎 填 海 得 來 的 土 地 已 劃 為 商 業 發 展 。
四 、 「 維 港 嚴 重 污 染 」 已 成 為 「 常 識 」 ， 政 府 因 此 才 花 逾 50 億 元 淨 化 海 港 。
五 、 明 智 的 人 都 知 道 「 填 海 令 維 港 變 窄 浪 大 」 。
陸 恭 蕙 又 在 信 中 表 示 ， 政 府 應 關 注 填 海 帶 來 的 重 大 問 題 ， 而 非 兒 童 故 事 的 瑣 碎 事 情。 局 方 發 言 人 回 應 稱 ， 政 府 認 同 協 會 在 教 育 孩 子 保 護 海 港 所 作 的 努 力 ， 但 重 申 希 望保 港 會 派 發 故 事 書 時 提 供 更 正 附 錄 ， 以 糾 正 錯 誤 資 料 。

Alliance for Preserving the Truth of Sino-Japanese War
"We, the undersigned, strongly urge you to speak out and vote against any motion or procedure to grant Japan the status as a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. As the aggressor in World War II, Japan committed numerous atrocities in its neighboring countries, and destroyed and looted an astronomical amount of properties. Recent discoveries have revealed its systematic slaughtering of prisoners of war and tens of millions of innocent civilians, from newborn to elderly, during those years. Its government and parliament have never formally acknowledged its wrongdoing, offered official apologies to those who suffered immensely, or provided adequate reparation to compensate its victims, including the hundreds of thousands women forced into sexual slavery, nearly a million died in its biochemical experimentations and battlefield deployments in violation of the Geneva Convention, or the Allied prisoners of war butchered, brutalized and enslaved. Japan thus far shows no remorse of its past misdeeds, refuses to repent, and appears to be untrustworthy. The international community can not and must not designate such state to seat on the Security Council which is chartered to safeguard and maintain regional and world peace and justice."

Le French May
The Annual French May Festival in Hongkong will soon begin. This year, as part of the "Year of France in China" campaign, the program will be the largest ever, featuring a variety of cultural events. I'm looking forward to some of the exhibitions and movie shows.
Gone to the "7" Exhibition on saturday in HK Art Centre. The japanese illustrators present some good graphis stuff - worth taking a look. Some photos are posted in my flicker album.

Suddenly Connected
Tonight going to meet a friend in Tsim Sha Tsui. We need to take MTR & KCR back home separately. On the way to the station, some new exits pop up in Nathan Road which connect both rails. Probably I've not been to the area for months, those road works previously there obviously had finished and created these exits.
Suddenly the rails are connected and so does New Territories and Kowloon/HK Island. Some day in future after the HK-Zhuha-Macau bridge is finished, our city would really start to expand beyond the border...

Back from Japan
Just back from Japan - visited the Aichi Expo and seen the Cherry Blossom. I've uploaded some photos in my flicker account, just click the link above to play the slideshow.
One advice for people visiting Expo - queues are really long!! If possible consider spending 2 days inside.
