Urban Trilogy - architectural plays by Alvin Yip 【

Architecture is an affair of form and formation.
Liberated from conventional bidding and an over-determination by a singular "best", Alvin's games portray and channel instrumental negotiation of urban possibilities. His notable demonstrations include the digital design agenda for EU Cultural Capital in 2000, a melting ice dynamic model at the Plurale series in Rome 2004 and recently the game of flocks for the World Architects' Congress in Istanbul. Each has provoked intensive debates among the European avant-gardes
In URBAN TRILOGY, the artist has disclosed and intertwined particular time-spaces of Kai Tak, Central and the New Territories on an imaginary backstage. Voyage between reality and the possible, participants are invited to suspect our urban cognition, conventions and materials in play.
